The Arima Church of the Nazarene lit up with laughter and excitement on the evening of October 14th, as it hosted a much-anticipated Games Night. The event brought together church members and their families for an evening of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition. Three teams, led by enthusiastic team captains, competed in a series of thrilling games, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and at the end of the night one team walked away with bragging rights and prizes for their efforts.
As the event approached, the buzz among the congregation was undeniable. Three team captains emerged as eager leaders: Sr. Racine, Bro. Julius, and Sr. Carissa. They took their roles seriously, diligently recruiting team members in the days leading up to the event. Each team represented a unique blend of ages, talents, and personalities, embodying the diverse spirit of the Arima Church of the Nazarene.
The Games Night featured a medley of classic and innovative games. From traditional favourites like Jenga and Tic Tac Toe with a twist to local gems like “Trini Does Say,” there was a game for everyone. The games were carefully selected to encourage participation and promote bonding among the teams.
Although the night stated with team ‘Winners’ conceding 5 points to both ‘The Chester’ and team ‘Overcomers’ due to the toppling of the Jenga tower, it was only the beginning. All three teams use strategy and wit, racking up points in each game as the night progressed. As the games unfolded, it was evident that the true spirit of the event was friendly competition. Team members cheered each other on, creating an atmosphere of sportsmanship and encouragement. Even the smallest victories were celebrated with exuberance, reminding everyone that it was all about having fun together.
After a night of thrilling competition and uproarious laughter, it was time to announce the victors. Team ‘Winners,’ captained by the ever-enthusiastic Sr. Racine, emerged as the champions. The second place went to team ‘The Chesters’ led by bro. Julius, who fought valiantly and showcased great sportsmanship throughout the event. Team ‘Overcomers’ headed by Sr. Carissa’s may not have taken the top spot but indeed brought an incredible amount of energy and spirit to the night and will no doubt return stronger in the games to come.
More than just a competition, the Games Night at the Arima Church of the Nazarene was a beautiful display of fellowship. It provided a unique opportunity for church members to interact outside of the regular Sunday service, reinforcing the sense of community and unity that the church is known for. The Games Night was a shining example of how fun, fellowship, and faith can come together to create a memorable and joy-filled evening for all.
